Fresh Cuts!!

When this Stamp Set and the Notecards appeared on the US scene last year, I loved them, and now we get them in our catalogue this year!! YAY!! Needless to say I pre-ordered them and have sat down today, (with a bit of inspiration from SCS) and made up a cute little Notecard and Box set. The idea for the box came from Gorillamama and the notecards from SCS, but I changed the notecards a little. There are heaps of gorgeous ideas on Splitcoast HEAPS!! Anyway, I managed to fit four cards and envelopes inside the little box, if I didn't use the Rhinestone Brad in the centre I probably could have fit five or six in, but I love the brad so four it is!! Anyway, I hope you like them!! Back soon with more (hopefully!!)

Easter Cards

Hi All!! I have been having a play with Easter Cards of late, not that I really send Easter Cards, but this year I thought I would send a few out. I have also, for a while now, been admiring the lovely cards that I have seen using the MojoMonday Sketches, so I thought that I might start to play along (soon - at the moment I am playing with some past sketches) I have compiled a 'Sketchbook' of all the Mojo Monday Sketches, so I have ideas on hand for when I get stuck. Then I will just add each months new ones as I go. The above three cards (in order) use numbers 48, 30 & 28. I have recently purchased some of the Retired Ribbon Originals and have used some on these cards. I am also using up some Retired DP - Spring Fling. I have a fair bit of DP that is now Retired to get through!! to make room for all the NEW stuff!! Gotta love NEW STUFF!! haha. Hopefully I will get creative and make some more up tonight and tomorrow.

For the Teachers

Now I don't think any of our Teachers check out my blog regularly! (But Mr Fuller, if you see this Shhhh! it's a secret!!) I came across a gorgeous basket the other night while searching Splitcoast for some samples using 'A Good Egg'. I thought it was cute, so followed the link and watched the video tutorial. Then was disappointed because we demonstrators in Australia do not have the Big Shot Dies etc. This morning I was up and thinking!!! and thinking!!! (that is why I suffer so many migraines I think, as I will see an idea and then it gets stuck in my head and bounces around like a squash ball in a squash court! lol) Anyway... I was wondering what I could use instead of the envelope die. I found a HOTP template that I had, but they were a bit too fancy, then I toddled back down to the bedroom/craft room and checked out my cricut Cartridges. Yippee I found something that could possibly work! I used the square envelope from the Beyond Birthdays Cartridge and cut it at 3 1/2 inches on the shadow setting! I had made one of the little baskets up using the same colour scheme as Alisa used on her basket, and decided to use the same theme on this larger 'hexagon basket'. I think it has turned out rather cute!! Here's a close up! This one is destined for the Staff Room!!

I had so much fun making that one I wanted to do another!! So here is one in 'Chooks' colours!! Orange and Green! (Though our Chooks colours are a bit brighter!!)

Aren't they spiffy?? They took alot of eggs!! They each hold a whole pack of the Cadbury Solid Eggs 325gm and a whole pack of Cadbury Selection 250gm. This made them a little heavy so I popped back down to the shops and picked up a couple of the Cadbury Milk Cartons (15eggs) and popped 6 of those in the bottom then topped them up with the smaller eggs. There are still heaps in the baskets to share, but at least now the bottom won't fall out! Oh and if you watch the video tutorial, Jacque cuts out a base for the bottom, I actually cut two and put one on the inside as well, to give a bit more strength.

Hope you like them!! Follow the links and give it a go!! They are easy and heaps of fun!!

Till next Time

Materials Used - Stampin Up! - Cardstock & Inks - Blue Bayou, Wild Wasabi & Pumpkin Pie. DP - Spring Break. Accessories - Scallop Edge & Scallop Circle Punches, Cirlce Punches, Old Olive Wide Grosgrain Ribbon, Sticky Strip.

ETA : This morning I was looking at the practice one I made out of white cardstock and I trimmed the flaps diagonally from the edge of the first scallop back to the corner and it looks good, so I will trim the above baskets too!! I will try and get a new picture up.

It's Easter Raffle Time!!

Well here they are!! I sat down yesterday and made my contribution to our school Easter Raffle. I love these little baskets (see previous post for links) and I've have had heaps of fun making them. These are the larger sized ones. (Follow the link to Monica's). I have also made a couple of Sunnyboy containers using scrap DP (these each hold 12 of the Cadbury solid eggs) and the two in the front are KingSized KitKats!! I found this simple idea of covering them like this on one blog that I was checking out recently and thought I'd add a couple to my donation. I do have another use up my sleeve but cannot share just yet!! I went to buy normal KitKats then discovered that the larger ones were 2 for $3 so got the bigger ones instead!! Bargain!!

Accessories - Scallop Circle Punch, Circle Punches, Chocolate Chip Wide Grosgrain Ribbon, Scallop Edge Punch, Crimper, Gold Brads. Stamp Set - Loads of Love.

Three Little Baskets

Hello there all!! I was reading all the new posts that pop into my Google Reader the other day and up popped Alisa's and the gorgeous little Easter Basket. I am on her mailing list so would have received the instructions in April but I didn't want to (couldn't) wait that long so I backtracked to find the instructions on Monica Gales Blog. This then linked me back to the original person who made the baskets, Leslie Miller. I first made one up according to the instructions by Leslie and this made the small basket, then I made one using Monica's instructions and this made the Large Basket, I sort of wanted one in between, so multiplied all the measurements for the Large Basket by 0.75 and came up with the middle sized basket!! (It's a bit like the three bears!! haha) Now the Large Basket holds a 75gm egg (Malteser, M&M, Smarties) The Middle Basket holds a 55gm Smarties egg and the Little Basket holds 11 of the small Cadbury or Redtulip eggs. They are really cute. I made all three baskets out of one sheet of DP and used co-ordinating cardstock for the trim and the handles. Tomorrow I am going to make some up using the brown striped paper from the retired Loves Me DP set. Will put a pic of those up over the weekend. I am hoping to get a pile of Easter Treats made for the school Easter Raffle this weekend and will put some piccies up when I am done.

Till then! Take Care

Oh! and guess what I noticed while making these baskets!!?? The Spring Fling DP and the Loves Me DP are the same!! Just a different colour scheme and a few slight changes here and there! but basically they are the same!! Go Figure!! (You probably all already know and I am the last one to realise!! haha but I thought I'd share anyway!!)
