Pomegrantate Satin Ribbon! Yum!!!

Hello there!! I have been having a play with my NEW (absolutely Gorgeous!!) Purely Pomegranate Satin Ribbon that I received last week!! Yummy or what!!?? The first card, is again, a paper tole. I bought some beautful 3D Mini Books from Sandy Jane Designs (for those who have asked where I get my 3D sheets from - this is the place!! 90% at least!!!) This cute little guy is from the Morehead Mini 3D Book. While cutting him out, the pomegranate ribbon came to mind as matching his ribbon on the hat!! and it is a near perfect match!! I love taking the colours out of the 3D image to choose my background colours as they nearly always end up being interesting colour combinations that I normally wouldn't put together. I am really pleased with this one, simple but nice. (oh and the strip across the middle looks a bit crooked but believe me is it straight - to the mm!! Some people call me a perfectionist!! I have no idea why!? *hee hee*)

Materials Used - Main Image - Morehead 3D Mini Book. Bazzill Cardstock - Twig, Cinnamon Stick, Mocha Divine. Stampin Up! - Purely Pomegranate Satin Ribbon. Rubons - Me & My Big Ideas - Love Sayings.

I then started playing with Kristen's Birthday Card Challenge, but with having a 'not so good' week last week 'ye olde brain cells' weren't working as they should!! I had to make a card with the Playboy Bunny on it. I found the pic on the internet, printed it up, cut it out, used my Heat 'n Stick Powder (for the first time!! - and definately not the last!! LOVE IT), then coated it in Dazzling Diamonds (again first time!!) The Playboy Bunny is usually black but sometimes pink, so not wanting to use a pinky pink I went with shades of Pink Bazzill Bling, and the pomegranate ribbon matched in perfectly. I wanted to put 'Happy Birthday' on the front but just couldn't seem to get anything to look right, so popped it on the inside instead!

Materials Used - Bazzill Bling - In the Pink, Diva, Black Tie & Diamond. Stampin Up! - Purely Pomegrate Satin Ribbon, Heat 'n Stick Powder, Dazzling Diamonds

July Swaps

My Contribution

Cards Received

Hello there! Me again!! Can't stop popping in today! I have finally taken a pic of the July Swaps that I received last week! Beautiful cards again ladies!! It is wonderful to see everyones different styles. I received cards from (Ooh! lets play school photo's and go left to right / top to bottom) Gail Kirby, Andrea Buckland, Deanne Stewart-Mills, anne-Marie Walker, Helen Robinson, Jennie Cass, Sarah Campbell, Roz, Jane Norrish & Amanda Moore. Thanks again ladies! My card is above and the materials used are listed below!! Now I need to work out what I am doing for the next one!!

Materials Used - Stampin Up! - Cardstock & Inks - Chocolate Chip, Blue Bayou, Soft Sky, Wild Wasabi, Certainly Celery, Very Vanilla. Stamp Sets - Heartfelt Thanks, Canvas BG. Accessories - Soft Sky Double Stitched Ribbon & Matt Pack.

Crabby Surprise Slider Card

I popped down to pick a stamp up from Averil this week and she gave me the instructions for this card, and the popsicle card and the Dress that is like the 'onsies'. Thanks Averil - Will have a play with all of them eventually. I had to give this one a go though, as it is so cute! I went to the original tutorial online at Dawns Stampin Studio and just loved the way she used Crab & Company! so I had to case them! Which I did in 4 colours!! (haha Love them!) I put mine on a card front though, so you can still write in the card, stand it up or hang it over the venetian blinds (like we do with cards in out family!! One window is allocated to cards). They were so easy to make and adjusting the instructions to suit our A6 cards - piece of cake!

Materials Used - Stampin Up! - Cardstock & Markers - Bashful Blue, Almost Amethyst, Certainly Celery and Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, Basic Black. Stamp Set - Crab & Company. Other - White card for base, googly eyes & Crystal Stickles, black gingham ribbon, stapler.

They are SOOO easy you've gotta give them a go!! I'm off to see what other stamp sets will suit to make some more!

Father's Day Shirts

It's that time of year again - Father's Day cards, so we had a play with this shirt on Friday. It was a lovely craft day with both Tracey and Angie! It hasn't been the three of us for a while, so it was nice to catch up. Anyway, I came across this shirt ages ago and wanted to give them ago, so here they are. I cased the design from Cambria, but changed it a little to use what I had here at home. I think they turned out rather nice !! I sat there for ages trying to tie a 'tie'!! but it just wouldn't work, so I ended up just tying a know then trimming it, worked out OK.
Materials Used - Stampin Up! - Cardstock & Inks - Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Certainly Celery. DP - Palette O Prints. Stamp Sets - Rivetting, Occasional Greetings. Accessories - 1 1/4" Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, Scallop Punch, Chocolate Chip 1/4" & 5/8" Inch Grosgain Ribbon. Other - Ribbon from my stash, Cuttlebug and Divine Swirls Embossing Folder.

A Thankyou!

I have made up this little Thankyou Note, to send to someone who brightened my day last week!! Will share details a little later down the track!! But I thought I'd share the card now as I think it turned out rather sweet! I have mainly used bits and pieces that I have on my desk, but yep, I think it turned out nice.

Some (Different) Christmas Cards

Ok, now these are a little different! I am still playing with a set of K&Co Christmas Cardmaking Kits that I was playing with before (here). They are definately proving to be a challenge as I am not very good at keeping things 'simple' and am also finding that even though they are a 'kit' that the patterned and plain cardstock aren't matching very well! I made these up on Friday/ Saturday before the 'Big Clean'. I have cut along the wavy lines of one of the patterned papers and managed to match it up with a Bazzill Cardstock - Fern. The 'Holiday Cheers' and 'Merry Christmas' are glittered and the 'Tis the Season' and 'Seasons Greetings' are Rubons that also came with the kits. I did manage to pull out my Stampin' Up Mat Pack to pierce the little holes along the lines.

Let me know what you think of this lot! I have bundled it all up and put it aside to tackle again another day!! You never know, I may get through the kit by Christmas!! haha

Look at ME!! I'm Standing!!

And isn't she soooooo good at it!! (Ultra proud Aunty here!) Aparently she can get herself up there and stand, but the dismount is still a bit out of reach! She hasn't quite figured that bit out yet. Just thought I'd share this pic that Jenni sent me (Cropped out ya clutter Jenni!! haha). I am spring cleaning so no cards this weekend!! ~sob~

We've been up to our ears in Spring Cleaning this afternoon and assignments on Great Britain and Russia!! I am learning that Jayden (Yr 5) and Owen (Yr 4) are both very good at doing their research online and that they have both become very savvy on their Macbooks! Jayden is presenting his assignment as a Movie and Owen has done a Slideshow. Well done to both of them!!

Will hopefully post some cards during the week! Till then! Cheers!

Happy Birthday Tracey!

Well her Birthday was last Sunday (so I am late!!) But we caught up today to 'play' cards, I managed one and Tracey did four notecards and decorated the pizza box!! So she was way more productive than me!! (what else is new!! haha) Anyway.....I struggled with this card!! I needed to bring out the green and it wasn't an easy one to match, you'd think with having every Stampin Up! colour PLUS just about every Bazzill green you could think of I'd be able to match it easily!! Nope, this was the best I could manage, so I used it sparingly. Tracey loves her 'Bling' so I made sure there was glitter (on the icing and candles) and the pearls just add to it I think!! All in all I am pretty happy with it! No actually I love it!!, though after chopping out the corners am not 100% about that, but Tracey loves it and thats the main thing! Right!!?? So what do you think about the corners?
Materials Used - Main Image - 3D Morehead Party Cuties. Stampin Up! - Corner Punch with guards removed for the scallops. Bazzill Cardstock - Vanilla, Romance, Petunia, Grass Green (Washboard Texture). Kaiser - Pearls. Other - Ribbon from my Stash

A Gift for Nan!

Hey there! On Friday I had a play with Kylies Card Pouch Tutorial. My Nan recently had a fall and broke her pelvis!! and several people have helped her out so I thought I'd make her some Thankyou Cards and pop them in a pouch so she could give them a card. I also love the cards that Kim made using Garden Whimsy, especially the Amethyst and Lilac ones, so I cased them. (omitting the scallop and corner punched bits) It was a fun little project to make! Unfortunately my CD Player isn't working so I couldn't play "Somewhere over the Rainbow" in the background - Bummer! I am destined NOT to listen to music at the moment! My CD Player has packed in (as previously mentioned), the radio and tape player on the same system do not work either, so I put a CD in the DVD Player - ERROR!! How Rude! and my DVD/CD drive in my laptop has also decided to retire, so I am stuck with "Hey Hey we're the Monkeys" and the theme song from the Banana Splits rolling around in my head!! I Finally got music playing on my laptop and we bopped along to Jive Bunny!! I am hinting that I would like an iPod and a dock, so I can put all my CD's on it and make up playlists.

Anyway I am waffling here! Time to go! My Regal Craft Cards order has just arrived!! Woo Hoo!! That means I finally have my Concave Punch!!! (Ticket Corner) and guess what!? Just as you can use the corner rounder punch to do scallops with the guard removed - well with this one you can do a reverse scallop with the guard removed! Nifty!

Materials Used - Stampin Up! - Cardstock & Inks - Whisper White, Certainly Celery, Almost Amethyst, Lovely Lilac. Stamp Sets - Garden Whimsy, Warmest Regards (Retired). Accessories - 6x6 Page Protectors, Celery 1/4" & 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Stamp-a-ma-jig. Other - Velco

Pizza Anyone? (Tastes Like Cardboard!!)

Hey there! Well I have been having a play with these cute little Pizza Boxes to hold some of the Love Notes. I originally found the idea on one of the blogs that I read, but for the life of me can't remember which one!! But I got the tuturoial from Jen del Muro's Blog and then just adapted it to suit our Love Notes. (Easy, my friend Tracey even changed it to suit the rectangle shaped Giftcards). I am having a lot of fun with this sort of thing lately and am also currently working on a stationery box that I found in Blogland!! But it can't really be adapted to suit our C6 envelopes, so I am waiting on a Kreate-a-Lope from the US that makes their size! Figured I would probably come across other items that need the slightly smaller size from the US so $8 wasn't going to kill me! So here we go......(Excuse the edges on the photos! I am trying to Blur out my kitchen in the background)

This is the first lot I made, which I was very proud of , and WOWed a few of my friends too!

Materials Used - Stampin Up! - Cardstock & Inks - Sahara Sand, Old Olive, Very Vanilla, Really Rust, Groovy Guava, Bashful Blue. DP - Fall Flowers, Stamp Sets - Rivetting (Retired) Circle of Friendship, Occasional Greetings. Accessories - Assorted Love Notes, Scallop Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Crimper, Sponge Daubers, Dimensionals. Other - Kaiser Pearls.

This second lot are nice and Bold. I made my own cards for this lot.
Materials Used - Stampin Up! - Cardstock & Inks - Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White, Sahara Sand. Stamp Sets - Rivetting (Retired), Love Matters (Retired), Circle of Friendship, Beyond the Basics (Retired), Party Punch. Accessories - Scallop Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Designer Label Punch, Round Tab Punch, Red & Black Gingham Ribbon, Black Grosgrain Ribbon, Mat Pack. Other - Dotted Vellum, Carl CP-8 Heart Punch, Kaiser Pearls & Rhinestones, Taupe Ribbon.

This last lot are Friendship or Thinking of You Cards.
Materials Used - Stampin Up! - Cardstock & Inks - Brocade Blue, So Saffron, Very Vanilla, Certainly Celery. Stamp Sets - Rivetting (Retired), Circle of Friendship, Time Well Spent, Lots of Thoughts (Retired). DP - Sarah (Retired). Accessories - Scallop Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, Spring Flower Bouquet Punch, Word Window Punch, Assorted Love Notes, Crimper, Dimensionals. Other - Kaiser Pearls, Carl Kikyou CP-1 & CP-2, Rhinestone Brad.

So that's it! My attempt at the Pizza Box & Love Notes! My friend Debbie and I sat down last weekend to make the Blue Ones! We made 10 Love notes between us and decorated the box and only used just over half a sheet of each DP between us!! How cool is that!! (The DP we used isn't double sided like the Fall Flowers but we still had half of each print left.)

Sympathy Cards

Sadly this week I needed to make up a few Sympathy cards, so while Tracey was whizzing through her BagBoxes, I started on some cards. I saw some cards on Marelles Blog ages ago that were just gorgeous and thought that they would be perfect. (Coz when you really need to make a card quickly, you never have any inspiration!! Card Three - Rose Sympathy (No Link!! Used my head for this one!!) Note : The scallop for this card was created using the offcut from the scalloped edged on my Bag-in-a-Box on the previous post! (Thifty or What!!??)and the Bow is covering the spot where I somehow managed to get More Mustard ink on the White !! I am still not sure if it looks out of place!
Materials Used - Stampin Up! - Cardstock & Inks - Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, More Mustard, So Saffron, Black StazOn. Stamp Sets - Both Way Blossoms (Retired), Warmest Regards (Retired), Sanded BG, Canvas BG. Accessories - Slit Punch, Horizontal Slot Punch, Sponge Daubers. Other - Ribbon from Stash.

So there they are! Some Sympathy Cards. Thankyou to Marelle for your wonderful inspiration (again!!). I now have to toddle off to make a Birthday card for my Best Bud Denise!!! Will post her cute little gifts later.

It's in the Bag(in-a-Box)!!

Well it was just Tracey and I for Cards on Friday, and we made up some of those nifty little Bag-in-a-Boxes that are everywhere at the moment!! I came across them on Chantelles Blog and followed the link from there for the tutorial. I made one up as a sample on Thursday night then showed Tracey - who went on to make four !! Mine are both the same, using Fall Flowers DP. I messed up with matching the green using Wild Wasabi instead of Old Olive. So when I went through it with Tracey on Friday I used the correct green and am happier with the result. Though Hubby and Tracey both like the one with Wasabi better!! Hmmmm, what do you think?
Materials Used - Stampin Up! - Cardstock & Inks - Wild Wasabi, Old Olive, River Rock & Very Vanilla. Ribbon - River Rock Double Stitched. Stamp Sets - Boho Backgrounds. Other - Eyelets & Brad.
