April Book Haul

Well lookie here!! Taneika is definitely a bad influence!! My book hauls are getting worse than hers! Her pictures are way better and her videos are awesome - so for next month my plan is to do a more inspiring photo!!

Going back to my march book haul, what did I actually get around to reading .... a few!! Phew, that's lucky .. enough to keep the hubby from complaining!!

I read the Selection Series - Marathoned them! Really enjoyed them and am now waiting to get my hands on The Crown this month!! The Intern and Faking It were also two fun and quick reads. Lastly The Girl Who Just Appeared, this was also a very interesting read, and had a twist at the end - I sort of guessed how it would end, but it was great to read how it played out.  So out of a haul of (crikey!!) 24 books, I actually read 8!! So pretty good I think!!

So anyways....on to April.... not as many, but a great month in my book (haha - see what I did there!!?? )

Taneika and I went to an Op Shop while out one day and I picked up a couple, we went to a YA Preview night at Boffins Bookstore! Which was AWESOME and with 25% off the books that we previewed if we preordered and also a massive 25% off al YA on the night - well, I felt sorry for my credit card!! and I also picked up a few bargains on the buy and sell pages, again! So what did I get??

Lets start with Ray ...

Stories of my Life The Autobiography Ray Martin

Who doesn't love Ray Martin (from my generation anyway) Scored this one for the Op Shop for $4 and it is signed!! Didn't notice that until I got home!! Can't wait to have a read through this as his interviews were always amazing!!

My James by Ralph Bulger

This is the first one that caught my eye at the Op Shop, and I know this will be a very sad read.

The Replacement by Brenna Yovanoff

Op Shop again, sound like an interesting read.

Uglies by Scott Westerfeld

Taneika first picked this up then put it back, when I read the back it sound rather cool and when looked it up on Goodreads and found is part of a series and they all sounded pretty good I decided to grab it (at $3.25 why not) Though if I enjoy it I will order the box set of all four - gotta have matching covers!!

The Body Institute by Carol Riggs

This story sounded amazing!! Who wouldn't want your mind swapped with someone who will go and work out for you and get your body in perfect shape then swap back!!??? Ummmm Me!!!! But nothing ever goes as plans does it??? Great read!! Yep - read it already!! Picked this one up from Boffins as won a $25 gift card from work.

Scripted by Maya Rock

YA Preview night!! This looked pretty awesome, again around the Reality TV kinda theme.

The Cipher by Jon C.  Ford

This one just sounds amazing, cracking codes, secrets a bit of mystery!!! Count me in. YA Preview night = discount = on my bookshelf!!

The Next Together by Lauren James

A bit of love, destiny, separation, time. Sound like my kinda story. This one I must have picked up and put back at least 5 times! So finally on the YA Preview night. I was told I was not allowed to put it back!!

The End of the World as we Know It by Iva-Marie Palmer

Another one picked up and put back a couple of times, so with a discount on offer decided it was time to read :-)

Once I was a Princess by Jacqueline Pascarl
Annies Girl  by Maureen Coppinger
If I am Missing or Dead by Janine Latus
Shame by Jasvinder Sanghera

All of these are books purchased on the buy and sell pages, all true stories, that I love reading even if they make you cry.

Follow me Back by Nicci Cloke

This one is another that is suited to this day and age relating to the dangers of meeting people online and cyber safety.  Loved this one.

So that is my April Haul.  I also picked up a chapter sampler for Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare and Queen of Hearts by Colleen Oakes from the YA night at Boffins. I have already read The Body Institute and Follow Me back and hope to attack a few more of them in this first couple weeks of May.

You never know, I may have a post with some cards this month too!!

Till Next Time...
