Shaken...Not Stirred

...and she's back again!! Boy am I on a roll - I surely hope this mojo lasts :-) Oh and in case you didn't notice BIG facelift for Ye Old Blog this afternoon!! Do you like??

I needed to make a card for a colleague at work - I am the Birthday Fairy (shhh son't tell anyone)  and I've been wanting to crack out this paper pad for a while, then Stampin Up went and retired the 'Take a Spin' stamp set before I even got to use it! So I stocked up in the little arrows and brads and finally made my first card with them....taa daa :-).  Next I will do some female cards.

For this final one I decided to use another stamp set that hasn't seen ink. Pretty pleased with the end results.  I am still getting used to my lightbox and need to get a photo editing (photoshop please babe) to tweak the white balance etc, and have a few lessons I think - Then I'll be happy with the pics :-)

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Cook!!!

Earlier in the year I was approached by Zoe's very good friend Danica (who I have known since they were 12 - and some wonderful memories there too!!) about her wedding invitations.  Of course I could make them...so I sent her off googling for a design she liked, made up some samples and then started on the HUGE task of making them up.

Danica found the design online (I cannot find it at the moment but will link to it when I do).  and this is what we came up with....lots of embossing!! Lots. But I am very pleased with the end result.

The two tags are Wishing Well Poem & Address of Reception

The Guest Book
As an added little gift for Danica I made up this Guest Book for people to sign as a memory of her Wedding Day.. She loved it and I got to use my Bind It all!!

The Finished Lot!!
I thought I'd make a couple boxes to put the Invites in - presentation is important to me
But then I realised that there is no way I can make one big enough!! I ended getting two CD boxes from IKEA and they fit in there beautifully!!

These took countless hours to make, a couple hiccups along the way, but were definitely worth it!! I also made up place cards to match. The Cherry Cobbler matched Danica's bridesmaid's perfectly, it truly was a beautiful wedding .... here's a couple pics from the day

 The Wishing Well
..and my Guest Book!!
This table was gorgeous, it had photos of those
who could not be there and candles it was a beautiful touch
Though the photos in this pic are Danica and Josh and their 'child' Balto.

So there you have it - my first major order for Wedding Invites.  A definite 'challenge' but a good one.

Crazy for Cupcakes ... again!!

Hi there, back again for a quick visit ... slowly getting back in to Cardmaking, buying cardmaking supplies (yay) and taking better photos of my cards! Step One - get light box! Tick. Step Two - learn how to use camera properly! In progress :-)..... Step Three - Blog - well don't rush me!!! lol

Anyway, Jayden and Owen both have Birthday's to go to this weekend so a couple cards were in order.  I decided to have a play with Crazy for Cupcakes again, because I love the set ~ and .. because I really didn't want to have to think!! and was going to just recreate some cards I made before, but I ended up changing them anyway so come up with two different ones.

First up we have Louise's card, she's such a sweetie, loves craft and books :-), so we got her a couple of books, which hopefully she hasn't read yet - and I made up this card.  Quite pleased with the end result.

I love the way the stripe bit sticks out with the tulle underneath to create a 'awning' if thats the word you would use. Very pretty. I love these colours. Old DP but nice to grab out and use a bit of it up. Maybe I might make a few more cards with these papers and colours while it is out on the desk.

Next we have Cadence's card. She is having a Murder Mystery party!! Owen's character pretty much suits him, but will talk about that tomorrow when we dress him up!! So for Cadence, I have gone with the Balloons from the Crazy for Cupcakes Stamp Set, and kept with the Candy Lane DP.

So now I just need Photoshop, and a few lessons on how to tweak my cards and I'll be taking and editing photos like a Pro!! but I definitely get a nicer result from my lovely lightbox :-)

I have made a couple more using the same set and/or DP, but will post them later.

Tatty Teddy 70th Card and Guest Book

I was asked by one of my colleagues at work if I would make a card for her Mother's 70th, of course I can :-) any excuse to play at my desk, Mojo started flowing and I thought it would be nice to make a little book for people to write in at the party. (Similar to what I made for Danica's Wedding - but just now have realised that I didn't blog the invites etc....so that is coming soon ~ stay tuned)

I love Tatty Teddy! Who doesn't???? and we needed mauves and butterflies and a bee! (The bee is on the inside of the card.) I have also given Steph a little bag full of butterflies that we can stick amongst the pages where people have signed, to decorate the pages a bit.
