Weekend Creations

Hi there!

Well it is Monday, and I am sorry to say I did not get very much crafting done over the weekend. Such sadness!! I did manage to create a few cards inspired by this one by Tina White on Splitcoast Stampers, I loved the way she used the Boho Blossoms punch to create the flowers of the stamp!! Just gorgeous. These cards are helping me use up some of my old DP - I am doing really well at working my way through all of it! I have just two sheets left in the purple pack :-). I have taken the design I came up with and made four cards in total (trying to build the old stash up) using two colour schemes.  The two bottom cards with the circle greeting are based on Mojo Monday 121

Card Supplies
Stampin Up - Stamp Sets - Hello Blossoms, It's Your Birthday, Circle of Friendship.  Cardstock & Inks - Perfect Plum, Not Quite Navy, Very Vanilla, Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive. Accessories - DP - Bella Bleu, Enchante. Scallop Trim Border Punch, Circle Scallop Punch, Circle Punches, Beautiful Wings Embosslits, Crochet Trim Victoria, Pearls, Rhinestone Brads, Shimmer Paint (made to a mist with Rubbing alcohol).

Another Past Project

Hello there !

Here I am again - filling in space - till my next creation (which should be later today).  I am blogging a few of the items/cards that I made throughout the last year, that never got around to being posted.  This one is the Birthday Card and Gift I made for my good crafting friend Cindy.

I decided to make a Punch Chart. Where all the shapes are punched out and labeled, then all you need to do is hold it over the stamp to see if it will fit - instead of grabbing a bit of scrap, punching it out, checking, then punching out again! I printed up two but still to this day have not completed my own! Whoops :-)

I also had this box that my Update Kit for the Watercolour Wonder Crayons came in - which Cindy commented "I love this box" then everything fell in place to what I would make.  Cindy and I also seem to be obsessed with Forever Friends and Tatty Teddy!! So it was a no brainer on what to use on the card - so here is what I gave to Cindy for her Birthday last year ....

The Box

The Gifts
Hidden under the Punch Chart is a Roll of gorgeous Satin Pomegranate Ribbon
and the buttons and ribbon from an offer last year.

Festive Friday Challenge with a little Mojo!

Hi All!

Today I decided to have a play along with the Festive Friday Challenge and was immediately inspired by Nicoles Button Card.  I had also just checked out the most recent Mojo Monday Sketch and - lightbulb moment - had an idea!! (I have watched Despicable Me too many times!!) So combining the two the following cards are what I came up with!! I am pretty pleased with these!! Nice and Bright! Most of my cards of late have been cased cards as I haven't had much 'brain power' but these are all me :-) - AND - I have used up some old DP to boot!!

These first two pics are the sketch and inspiration, then the following three are my cards - Three Christmas Cards down about 57 to go!!!

Stampin Up - Stamp Sets - Many Merry Messages, Tree Trimmings, Season of Joy, Contempo Christmas. Cardstock & Inks - Old Olive, Real Red, Very Vanilla, Early Expresso. Accessories - Big Shot, Square Lattice EF, Buttons (various packs) Real Red 1/4" Grosgrain, Dashing DP. Glitter Glue & Dazzling Diamonds.

Teacher Gifts

In the spirit of trying to blog everyday and to also see if this Networkblogs thing is going to work, I thought I would blog a few things I have missed, but created over the last year.

These are the gifts I made for school at Christmas time.  It was our last year at Primary School so I want to make something for Owens Teacher, The Principal & Deputy and Di in the office. They have all been a great support to our family, Cas - always encouraging and telling us we are doing a great job, Pat - always there with a hug and advice and a caring smile, Di - always a caring smile and the 'Don't worry Owen is OK!' when she called and Miss A for being the most wonderful teacher you could ask for!!!! So they all needed something special.

When I saw this gorgeous Beautiful Wings Tutorial on Papercrafters Library I knew that that was what I wanted to do. I adjusted the sizes to a little smaller and made 5 for each box, using the In Colours. It was a big task - especially with my hand playing up and being 'thick' but I got them done.  I also purchased this tutorial from Inking Idaho last year, and when decided to do the cards knew that I wanted to put them in this box!! So a little adjusting here and there and I got it how I wanted it :-) They each included 5 cards and envelopes, 4 Ferrero Rochers, a pen and about 10 Favourites Chocolates.

Then as an extra gift for the Amazing Miss A I gave her this, which has a covered notebook, fineliners, highligthers, 4 packs of post-it notes (she's an addict!!) and the special teacher post-its! I was quite impressed with the covered notebook, turned out rather spiffy!!

Well that's my Teacher Gifts for 2011 - i also popped a couple Treat Boxes on on the staff room table full of Favourites for the rest of the Teachers in the school.

Crap!!

I was messing around with the layout of my blog and somehow stuffed it up!!! For the life of me I cannot get back to Minima and therefore cannot apply my cute background! Grrrr!!!

So I am going to settle with this for a while until I can figure out where I went wrong!!

Sorry :-(

Hello Buttons

Pinterest is a dangerous thing!! I tend to spend a lot of time on it!! Looking at wonderful creative ideas and then I end up following someone, then someone else and then before I know it I have lost a couple hours!!! Oh dear! Anyway, I came across this card and decided it would be a nice one to make up - I have all these buttons and have done nothing with them!!

I changed the colours around, used a smaller bow and added a sentiment.  I think it turned out rather cool :-) Now to go play and see what I can come up with.

Card Supplies
Stampin Up - Cardstock & Ink - Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Whisper White. Stamp Set - Hello Blossom, It's Your Birthday. Accessories - Button Latte Buttons and Retired So Saffron Ribbon, Neutrals Prints DP, 6x6 Paper Pad (retired) & Linen Thread.

Happy Birthday Anthony (the love of my life!!)

Today is my hubby's birthday!! I won't say how old he is but lets just say he is officially on the down hill slide to 50!! (hee hee) We went out to dinner on saturday night and Zoe took this pic of us!!! It's a bit grainy as we forgot to turn the flash on (whoops) but a nice one!!

Then I managed to get a half decent (albeit grainy) picture of my three kiddlies!! Noice :-)

For his birthday we signed Anthony up for 'In the Wings' Eagles Membership.  This has put him on the approx 6 year waiting list for Eagles Membership!!  Not long.  I also got him this cheeky gift - A Round Tuit if you haven't heard of them go here. An awesome novelty gift for someone who seems to think they can only get things done when they get a round to it!!!! lol.  I am glad he sees the funny side of things and loves my cheekiness!!

Finally today I whacked together this card for him, I've been so busy with my other cards this one kept getting put on the back burner!! But it's done and now I am all up to date!! This card uses a cute Forever Friends topper from the Retro Collection that came out last year sometime! Finally got around to using it (well one image!!) I have teamed it with Stampin Up colours Garden Green and Not Quite Navy, and a mini clip from Stampin Up too.

Happy Birthday Aiden

Today is my nephew Aidens Birthday, I am really managing to keep on track this year! I sent the card today - on his birthday! So it will only be one day late!!  I have been playing with this paper on and off since I bought it a couple years ago.  I managed to score some embellishments to match for Christmas so have dragged it out again for another play.  I really wished that we got Extreme Skateboard here in Aus but we didn't, so I downloaded some free silhouette pics from the net and used them instead, printed them, cut them out and then recoloured with black markers to make it darker!! Turns out rather spiffy!! The paper is called Rewind from Kaisercraft.

Supplies
Stamp Set - Stampin Up - Grunge Rock. Cardstock - Basic Black, Whisper White. Accessories - Kaisercraft Rewind Paper & Brad.

Aviary Cards

Hello again!! Yes I am bombarding you with posts at the moment, but am just trying to blog the cards I have made over the past couple weeks, and then will try and blog every few days.  While making my Birthday Fairy cards, I have chosen a stamp set, googled it, found a card to inspire me and then made at least two!! So next up was the Aviary stamp set.  I came a cross this centre step card and liked it so thought I'd give it a go.  I have made centre step cards before but they are landscape, and I like this look of this type ;-) I am also trying to use up some of my old DP, before buying new stuff - I have done very well so far this year and haven't bought any DP from the new catty at all!!!

So my first card is pretty much a case of the one I found, with a change of colour and putting the sentiment off to the side! I am pretty pleased with the end result, love the colours AND most importantly have used up some old DP :-)

Then I did a landscape card, same design, some more old DP and different colour scheme. I seem to be in a 'pearl phase' I seem to be putting lots of pearls on cards!

Hello There!!

Oh Dear! I have been absent for quite a while haven't I? A lot has happened in the last year health wise and family wise, things seem to be back on track so lets see if I can start blogging regularly again. I have been crafting - on and off - so do have some stuff to show, so I will post some cards over next few days and see if I can get regular again.

On a FB Group that I am a part of we have a group of Birthday Fairies - where we send 'happy mail' to the ladies who want to participate, so I have a list of birthdays each month to make Cards for, and yes, I am running behind!!! (What else is new!!!) I hope to do some catching up today. So here are the cards I have made for January. All of them have been case from images I have found on the net. I will try and relocate them so I can credit the original creator but for now here they are.

The top card uses last years SAB set Bliss, with Baja Breeze and Cake Crumb. The next two pics all use Spic Cake DP, Very Vanilla, More Mustard and Pool Party.

Edited to add links to original cards

Birthday Fairies Cards

Being a part of the Birthday Fairies on ESAD - I am really getting on top of my cards, each time I make one for a lady on the list I make an extra for my stash!! So that is now slowly building up again (well until I catch up with my friend Denise! and she relieves me of a few!!)

I wanted to have a play with some more of the Spice Cake DP and Field Flowers so did a google image search and came up with a card similar to this one

The card was actually a gate fold card but I chose to make it a traditional card.  I decided to put a couple of butterflies on it, and had left overs - now I am trying to be good and use up my scraps and clean up after myself so I made a second card using the butterflies.  I did find a card that I based this one on, but cannot find it!! - Mental Note - Make sure you bookmark or Pin cards so you can link to them later Caroline!!!! I will endeavour to find it and link back.  But this has used up my left over butterflies!!   well most of them ...

I still had a few Butterflies left, so then made this final card for one of my Birthday Fairies and actually had to cut out a couple more tiny ones to finish it off.  This card (below) is based on a card I found on Andreas Pinterest, I have followed it back about 4 people but still can't find the original! Oh dear this is getting hard!!! I changed it around a bit and really only used the main section of the card and did my own side bit!

Supplies - Stampin Up
Stamps Sets - Field Flowers, Stem Silhouettes, On Your Birthday, Vintage Vogue, So Happy For You. Cardstock & Inks - Pool Party, Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade, Whisper White. Accessories - Ruffled Ribbon, Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Pearls

Hello again, well like I said I am trying to keep up-to-date on all my cards this year and also keep up with blogging. I have not much inspiration at the moment so tend to be finding ideas online and either casing them or tweaking them :-)

I needed a card for a birthday party that Jayden was off too! I had an hour to make the card and he yelled out PURPLE!! So I had a quick look with google images and came across this one by Pink Buckaroo Designs!! thought it was exactly what I needed so whipped one up. The recipient loved it and all was good!
