So we have a week worth of Make & Takes, Swaps, Challenges, On Line Chats & Projects to keep us busy and happy, we even have an Awards Dinner!!.  We are staying at the SOS Hotel ~ A 5 Star Luxury Resort ~ and I have been roomed with Maggie from Vic! (Waves Maggie).  So watch this space over the next few days and I will upload what I have been making.  It's off to work in the real world now, but back home for a bit of 'Virtual Convention' tonight.   Hee Hee, How much funis this going to be!!

Pirouette 21st!!

One of the girls at work is turning 21 tomorrow, Wendy (my boss) asked me if I could make a card for her, but with everything that has been happening of late, I have been running WAY behind!  So when I finished my swaps this morning and got them in the post, I thought I had better sit down and get this card made to take to work this arvo.  I had the base already made, as I was originally going to use the Scribble wheel for the base of my Swaps (because I ordered Pink Piroutte DP but it went into backorder!!! Grrrrr ~ by they way that's my new catch phrase!! grrrrr) Anyway I had to come up with a plan, and after rolling in Versamark and lining it up rolling it again, then embossing it ~ it seemed way too much so I put it aside and went with an easier option!! (Still time consuming but a bit easier than all the rolling). I cut the '21' out with my Cricut Machine using Alphalicious, set on Short Stack at 3", added the scallop strip and the Pink Pirouette Ribbon, a couple left over flowers from my Swap cards and Whalah!! a 21st card!! I am just going to go find a greeting to go on the inside and then it's all done ready to go to work with me.  Now I just need to do Eilish's Birthday card, I am late, her birthday was last week, but I will get it done, then I am all caught up ~ sort of ~ I have an absolute mess of a craft desk to clean up, 2 boxes of Stampin Up Product to sort, mount and get to my friends, sort my stamps in to 2 sections Retired & Current and do the same with my DP and then I should be right!! (Grrrrr, I just wanna play with my goodies!!! not clean and organise.....sob)

So those of your who happen along my blog and are a part of Un Convention!! this is a bit of a  sneak peak of your swaps that you will be getting from me!! (sort of ~ colour scheme anyway)

Materials Used - Stampin Up! - Stamp Sets - Scribble Wheel.  Cardstock & Inks - Whisper White, Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip. Accessories - Scallop Border Punch, Trio Flower Punch, 1/4" Circle Punch, Pink Pirouette Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Silver Brads. Non Stampin Up! - Cricut Machine, Alphalicious Cartridge

The Visit from the Kalgoorlians!!

Well I have just had a lovely week with my sister Jenni from Kalgoorlie, and with her came Taneika and Ella!! her two gorgeous daughters!! We had fun.  Taneika went off in to the city with Zoe to 'look' at ball dresses, while Jenni, Ella, the boys and I hit the Carousel.  Well the text came through!! "I have found my Dress" and it is absolutely stunning!! No pics yet!! Not till after the ball. Jenni went in the next day and 'dealt' with the difficult, snooty sales people, and they brought it home.  Shoes were found and tie and bag to match!! All Done.

Taneika was reading Twilight when she arrived, so when she finished I picked up the second book New Moon and placed it on her bed (you couldn't miss it!) and then waited till she 'discovered' it.  Jenni and I stood in the kitchen when she went to get dressed to go out, we waited...and waited...Hmmm I know she's blonde...but!!! haha. Then the door opened and out she burst! The look on her face was definately worth the $20!! Ha ha!! And it only took her a day to read it!! Hmm do I go get the third book?

Ella is gorgeous!! Unfortunately I couldn't get her to say "Aunty Caroline" the best I could get was "Ca ca ca" she nearly said Jayden though!.  He was all over her, following her around, pushing her stroller, patiently teaching her the word 'Jayden' LOL.  Anyway, it was a lovely time we had, and sad to see her go!! I even got Jenni to help me with my swaps for UnConvention!! (She sponged all the chocolate chip bits!! - Those in the know, know what I am talking about!! haha)
Well time to share some pics....

Ella & Taneika (Note the Twilight Book!! Another Addict!)

Ella's 'Camera Face'

Owen's "I said..Don't take my Picture" Look!! (Whoops!! Too Late!!)

And Finally Jayden & Taneika

So that's it, another visit over and gone!! Ella has grown so much, I had to be careful picking her up as I did my back again the week before!! (What timing! grrr) So it was limited cuddles, as she is running around alot and doesn't like to just sit on Aunties knee, there is way too much exploring to do! Lol.

Well I am now off to finish my Unconvention Swaps, I just need to stick the 'recipe' to the back and package them up ready to post.  I also need to make a card for my SOS Hotel Roommate Maggie (Whom I am yet to email and introduce myself to) and get that sent off with the little gift I made.  More about Unconvention later, it is all still so secretive. But in a nutshell it is a Stampin Up Convention for those of us who are not attending the 'actual' convention that is being held in Canberra next week.  There are around 30 of us who are all meeting online for chats, make & takes, swaps and even an Awards Dinner!! Sounds like fun, so I thought I'd join in. I will share my Swap and the projects we make after the event.

Till next time, Happy Stamping!!

Talking Text Message

Oohh I thought I'd share this funny thing that happened last week when I picked up my car.  I was so excited, I have been driving my beloved KIA Carnival for the last four years, I love it - I sit up high with a straight back, my legs are comfy just like sitting in a chair - instead of being stretched out in front of me trying to reach the pedals! I still have to pull my seat all the way forward, but I love it!! No major back aches.  When I used to drive the Camry if we went on a long trip you basically had to roll me out of the car, as I would be so stiff!! also the brakes on the Camry are not the best, you get used to it (as I had) you sort of had to basically put the pedal to the floor and push it some more to stop!! (My Hubby is a mechanic by trade!! Say no more!!) So when I went to brake in the KIA needless to say I nearly went through the windscreen they are so sensitive!!  Anyway, on to the point of the story.....I went and picked up the KIA after two weeks and sent my hubby a text - this is what Iwrote!!
OMG!! I have brakes!! LOL :)
I accidentally sent it to our home phone instead of his mobile.  I don't know if this happens elsewhere in the world, but in Aus you can send a text to a landline and it converts it to speech. When I got home the phone rang and it was a talking text message, this is what the lovely computerised lady said.....
Oh My God I have brakes laughing out loud smiley face without a nose!!
I certainly did laugh out loud after that!! It was in such a monotoned voice with no breaks and no emotion!! It was so funny~!~ Maybe that contributed to my back giving way a few hours later!! I couldn't save it on the phone, so when Anthony got home I resent the text to the home phone so he could have a giggle to!!
Haha, anyway, I  am off for that walk around the house. I should start timing my self and aim for a Personal Best!!maybe put a few obstacles in the way!! No hurdles though!! I don't think that will work. ;-).

Just can't let the old In Colours go!!

Hi there!! I am feeling very sore today :-( My back, which I put out last week is still very sore, so amongst, resting, strolling around the house and heat pillows, I have been having a play, though I cannot sit for too long!! I went to get in the car to take the boys to a friends place and found I can't lift my leg high enough to get in the KIA!! Oops!! Anyway, I have made up these little cards so I thought I'd share.  They are using last years In Colours, but the new Fresh Cuts stamp Set.  I love Chocolate Chip!! In every shape and form!! Yummm.  I sort of used the Rock & Roll Technique. I first inked up the square stamp in the colour and the just inked up each edge with the Chocolate Chip. It's a bit big to 'roll'. Well that's it from me, time to do a lap of the house and heat up the old back again!!

Materials Used - Stampin Up! - Stamp Set - Fresh Cuts, Sanded. Cardstock & Inks - Wild Wasabi, Blue Bayou, Purely Pomegranate, Whisper White. Accessories - Chocolate Chip 1/4" Grosgain Ribbon, Oval Punches.

Night of Latte!

Last one for today, I like this one! Well I like them all, but I like the colours I have used here! They are different.  I pulled out an old  pack of 'Little Sizzles' the paper pads that came out when the Sizzix Machines were new. (Does that tell you how long they have been sitting in the drawer??) This background is from the 'Classics' Pad. I got the layout from milwaukeemommy, but changed it a 'tad'.

Materials Used - Stampin Up! - Stamp Set - Like it a Latte (Retired). Cardstock & Inks - Not Quite Navy, Bordering Blue, Whisper White.  Accessories - Slit Punch for Notches, Dimensionals. Non Stampin Up! - Accessories - Little Sizzles Classics Paper, Cuttlebug & Divine Swirls Embossing Folder, Ribbon and Brad from HOTP Embellishment Pack, Crystal Stickles

Berry Bliss Latte

Another CASED card, this one by stampcrazy1, I have had fun actually achieving a few cards this afternoon, instead of sitting at my desk staring at a stamp set and some paper!! So thanks to Splitcoast and all those wonderful cardmakers who share their work!! You have helped me have a good afternoon of creating!!

Materials Used - Stampin Up! - Stamp Sets - Like it a Latte (Retired). Cardstock & Inks - Close to Cocoa, Purely Pomegranate, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White.  Accessories - DP - Berry Bliss, Purely Pomegranate Satin Ribbon, 2 Way Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds, Dimensionals.

Scalloped Latte

I am liking this one!! Again this is pretty much CASED from tracim.  I loved it!! The only thing I changed was the heart in the  sentiment.  The 'froth' has bee raised on dimensionals.

Friendly Latte!!

Cardstock & Inks - Chocolate Chip, Ruby Red, River Rock, Very Vanilla.  Accessories - Scallop Circle Punch, Circle Punches, Designer Label Punch, Large Oval Punch, Chocolate Chip 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, 2 Way Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds. Triple Latte!

Hi there Everyone! I hope you have all had a lovely Easter Break!!
We've had a relatively quiet one, as I did my back again last week!! So I have been sitting for a bit, lying down for a bit, getting up and doing a lap of the house, getting the heat pillow out of the microwave, then lying down again! Oh what fun!! Hubby told me to lay off the chocolate as I don't want to get a migraine!! But hey, with the amount of anti inflamatories, pain killers and the blood thinners!! I don't think a migraine has any chance of taking hold!! So bring on the Chocolate!!! haha.  Anyways, this has definitely put a hole in my 'Make a Card a Day Resolution'!! So over the last couple of days I have managed to catch up - very slowly - but I did it!! Plus I was pretty please with the way that my Rose Quilt Card turned out, that I decided to continue with the theme and have made three others, but I am not going to share them just yet!! So with those finished, I decided to make some cards using Like it a Latte, as I told an E-Friend (Waves to Petra & Jess!) that I would make up some samples, I've been a bit slow, and had not much mojo, so headed to splitcoast for some ideas and have made a few up, so here they are!! They mostly used retired papers, but I need to start using them up soon to make room for some new stuff!! Hope you like them.

This card has been inspred by jennae, but I decided to turn it upright and used  MojoMonday Sketch 78 as the layout.

Materials Used - Stampin Up! - Stamp Sets - Like it a Latte (Retired), Fresh Cuts. Cardstock & Inks - Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Mellow Moss.  Accessories - DP - Spring Flowers, Sherbet Ribbon Originals, Chocolate Chip 1/4" Grosgrain, Scallop Circle Punch. Cirlce Punches.

Rose Red Quilt

Hello there!! Here I am again with another Quilt Card. I loved the one that Nancy made, using the Prints Designer Series Paper in Rose Red. (Nancy's Card & Tutorial). This time I used the measurements given in the tutorial so ended up with a square card, this one is 14 x 14cm. I couldn't seem to get an image that suited the centre of the card - it was either too big or too small - so I went through my (way to full) drawer of 3D images and found this cute one already cut out, I think she sits on there quite nicely. The rest just sort of fell together!! I love the font of the greetings in the Fresh Cuts Stamp Set. My make a card a day "resolution" (only set it for myself this week!!) is getting off to a good start!! Well, Bones is about to start, so it's time to make a cup of tea and get comfy!! Till next time....Caroline xx

Materials Used - Stampin Up! - Cardstock & Inks - Basic Black, Whisper White, Pink Pirouette. Stamp Sets - Fresh Cuts, Beyond the Basics (retired). Quilt Card

Wow, I am definitely on a roll here!! Lets see how long I can keep it up hey?? (lol) I stumbled across these Quilt Cards the other day, I am not sure how, I clicked on a link somewhere but am glad I did!! Isn't it cute?? I sort of completely cased this one, just changed it a little bit (If you scroll to the bottom of the post you will see the one I cased), but plan to make a couple more up tomorrow. They are really very easy to make and quite a lovely effect. Now it is off to work for me, then this arvo it is off to visit my Mother in Law and give her the Chocolate Box I made yesterday, then I am going to conquer a mountain!!! (of washing that needs folding/ironing & putting away!!) :-( .

Happy 40th Paul!!

Hello there!! Me again!! I am definitely on a roll today!! Anthony is off to his brother's 40th tonight, I am staying home with the boys, as it will go late and I have to get up and head in to work tomorrow!! I have been trying to think of a card to make for Paul all week!! It's been driving me crazy, but then as I was flicking through the little MojoMonday Sketchbook I have made up, and I came across this one!! It is Sketch 36, a little bit different as I have centered the 40 instead of putting it off to the side, but I think it has turned out rather well. He's a kinda Hawaiian shirt kinda guy!! So the paper suits. It is also helping me use up some retired DP and Cardstock. Anyway, I am off to do some dinner, send Anthony out the door, set the boys up with a movie and go back and make some Quilt Cards that I found blogsurfing yesterday!!

Materials Used - Stampin Up! - Cardstock & Inks - Blue Bayou, Old Olive, Soft Sky. Stamp Sets - It's Your Birthday, Headline Numbers. Accessories - Spring Break DP, Old Olive Wide Grosgrain Ribbon & Blue Bayou Double Stitched Ribbon, Sponge Daubers (I sponge everything!!)

Elegant Earthy Easter

Wow that's a mouthful hey?? Lol. Nah I was wanting to make up some more of the little chocolate boxes that Kim made up and shared with us all back in September!! I had some of the Hazelnut Eight Moments boxes so needed to match the colour scheme with the colour of the foil that the chocs are wrapped in. (I wish they would just use gold or silver!! So much easier - are you listening Cadbury???!!!) Anyway....I thought it was about time I delved into some of the old old papers that I have - BSU - Before Stampin Up!! (Yes I can hardly believe there was a time that I did not even know about Stampin Up!! How did I survive!!) Again, I have digressed!! I have made two of these boxes up, one for my Mother in Law, who has just come out of hospital and one for my Nan in Qld for Easter, and I have made a matching card for Nan too. The papers I have used are K&Company - Life's Journey. I have had this pad for ever!! So am happy that I have actually pulled it out and used some of it!! (I am sure Anthony is happy I am using it too!! haha) I plan to make another Easter Card for my Mother in Law and make up an Easter Basket to match for her. Hope you like them.

Materials Used - Stampin Up! - Stamp Sets - A Good Egg, Occasional Greetings, Floral Background. Cardstock & Inks - Really Rust, Creamy Caramel, Ruby Red, Chocolate Chip. Accessories - Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon (love it!!), Scallop Edge Punch, Small & Large Oval Punches, Crop-a-dile, Linen Thread. Non Stampin Up! - K&Company Lifes Journey Button Pad.

Monochromatic Easter!?

Hello there! I have been having a play today, trying to get some little 'money holders' made for a couple of little Easter Gifts. Instead of exchanging eggs, we have decided to give the boys $5 each so they can buy a small toy or book, or put it toward something they are saving for. So these are the little 'money holders' I have made for Harrison and Brodie. Harrison isn't into cutesy stuff, so I have tried to make it boyish!! I am trying to use up my spring fling DP. The first pic was taken on my 'messy' desk!! then I thought I'd take a close up of each, I am now wondering if they are a bit bland? What do you think? Unfortunately our $5 note doesn't really fit the theme!! being purple and all!! I have also made a pink one!! Now the $5 note looks ok in that one!!(lol) Anyway, thanks for looking, hope to be back a little later with some Quilt cards that I stumbled across today, so thought I would have a play with them too! Better go clean up the mess first so I can find my desk! (then make another mess).

Materials Used - Stampin Up! - Cardstock & Inks - Whisper White, Sage Shadow, Basic Grey. Stamp Sets - A Good Egg, Occassional Greetings. Accessories - Spring Fling DP, White Eyelets, Scallop Circle & Edge Punches, Circle Punches, Sponge Daubers.
