New Cards

Here are a couple of cards that I have made up for my boss! The 'Mad Dog' card uses Basic Grey Hang 10 Papers and the words are cut out using my Cricut and the Cuttin' Up Cartridge. The 40th card uses one of my many 3D images that I have cut ready to go on cards, and uses Doodlebug Crisscross cardstock from Bazzill. The background paper is some that I had sitting in one of my files from ages ago. The 40 has been cut using my Cricut and the Alphalicious Cartridge.

Will upload some more over the weekend for some other special order cards that I am making.

Have a nice weekend! Caroline

Our visit from Ella

Well they finally got here about 3.07pm on Friday afternoon! Just as I was to head out and get the boys from school. I had the most amazing visit with my sister. Ella is gorgeous and I have missed so much. I think from the moment Wade handed her to me (at 3.08pm), till the moment I put her in her car seat to head back to Kalgoorlie I hardly ever put her down!! She is such a beautiful little princess with such smiling eyes!!
Jenni got to catch up on some sleep and I got to relive the early morning feeds!! Hmmm not sure who got the better deal!! but I loved it!! Jayden and Owen doted on her and Uncle Anthony was smitten!!
So sit back and enjoy my favourite pics from the weekend. Speakers on! I've added a new song. I was trying to find "A Little Ray of Sunshine" to add to my playlist (as she is) but just can't seem to find it! So had to settle with good ole Queen and Crazy little thing called LOVE! enjoy.

ELLA's Card!!

Hello again!!

Well now that I know my sister won't be checking out my blog in the next few hours (as she is driving to Perth!) I can share Ella's card. I was so busy when she arrived getting the Baby Announcements made that I completely forgot about her card!! When I was making up my Brodie baby girl card I though I could use the same colours etc with the other 3D picture on the sheet to do Ella's card and use up my odd bits. So here is the result -Tada!! It opens sideways at the scallop and ELLA is on the inside of the card. The offcuts from the Papaya and Petunia scallop are also on the inside of the card, together with a lovely poem I found and adapted from Verses4cards. (I can nearly always find a suitable poem from here.)

Well I am off to do a bit more tidying up for the little Princess who is going to grace my doorstep this arvo!! (only for one night - boohoo) I am sure Jenni won't mind, so here's a pic ...........

Introducing Ella!!

Isn't she beautiful? (yeah I know Cluck, Cluck!! but no more for me!!) I can't wait to give her the biggest cuddle and not let her go till Saturday night!!!

A Hoarder or a Collector??

Stamping and Papercraft Magazine are changing their name this month to Cardmaking Stamping and Papercraft! I have many issues that I have collected over the years, have been a subscriber for the last 5 years, and my goal this year is to (hopefully) have some of my cards published! Anyway, on to the point of this post. Look what I have in my pile of many (can't possibly throw away because there are too many wonderful ideas!!) magazines. Volume 1 number 1!! Definately a Collectors' item!!
I originally purchased the mag for ideas to make my own Wedding Invitations!! Which I didn't end up doing - we bought one of those packs from the Newsagent that included everything - Invites, RSVP cards, Thankyous, Placecards even pillow boxes for cake for the guests!!! BUT... I did buy a corner stamp and a gold inkpad and stamped a corner image on all the envelopes, which I didn't emboss as I didn't realise I had to and the ink sort of rubbed off!! (Oh well) This was the very start of my interest in stamping. Which got put to the back of my mind for many years, before getting back in to it several years ago. I will have to think back now to how long ago it actually was. Hmmmm will get back to you on that one.
Anyway, I just thought I would share my copy of the very FIRST Stamping and Papercraft on the eve of their new name!!
Happy stamping!!

Here are the Pink Ones!!

Well, as promised, here are the Pink cards I made. I don't have any wide ribbon (YET... a batt of the eyelids and "but babe...to get all the ribbons that I don't have will only be $381 and then I get FREE stuff" hasn't worked YET.. I stress the yet as I am still working on him!! hahahahaha - that is evil laughter!! lol)
Anyway, these are basically the same, though I used a different background as Crosshatch seemed too harsh for the pink, so I used the swirly one from Fresh Fillers (retired).
Enjoy your weekend, today is starting off to be lovely - blue sky no clouds.
I am off to loose 10 years and get rid of the grey!! (well I can try anyway!! lol)

A couple of CASEings and a Successful Tutorial!!

Hi there, what a lovely day it is in Perth today!! I have been finishing off some cards, so I thought I'd share.

I read a tutorial on Marelle's Blog the other day about getting good impressions from your bold stamps (go look, I will wait!!). When I made my Brodie Boy card, I got an uneven impression from my Headline Alphabet letters. So I followed her instructions and definately came up with better impressions!! I don't have the Grid Paper Pad, so I used an exercise book instead (you know the ones you rush down to get at Officeworks for 1¢ each!! I bought heaps!! I'd much rather the boys scribble on a 48 page 1¢ exercise book than a piece of photocopy paper that costs the same!! I still have 120 of them LOL). All in all I was pleased with the results. I also CASEd the cards that I made while following Marelle's tips from her blog also (again, go look, I will wait!!). You will need to scroll down through her SAB cards to find these. I used the same colour scheme for the first lot and then changed it for the next. When I finish here I am going to toddle off and make some girl ones I think!! I made 8 in total and 6 have already been allocated to certain birthdays coming up this month!! All males!!! How do I keep track of all these birthdays do you ask?? well I used an idea from Jayne Mercers Blog (Link below). It took a little while to put together, and I needed 2 business card holders, but it works!!
Anyway, on to the cards....

Materials Used
Stamp Set - Stampin' Up! Birthday Whimsy (SAB Retired), Crosshatch BG (Retired)
Cardstock - Stampin' Up! Brocade Blue, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Whisper White.
Inks - Stampin' Up! - Brocade Blue, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery
Accessories - Stampin' Up! Certainly Celery Wide & 1/4" Grosgain Ribbon, Mat Pack. Sizzlits Oval Dies

Materials Used
Stamp Set - Stampin' Up! Birthday Whimsy (SAB Retired), Crosshatch BG (Retired)
Cardstock - Stampin' Up! Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Very Vanilla.
Inks - Stampin' Up! - Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, More Mustard
Accessories - Stampin' Up! Chocolate Chip Wide Grosgain Ribbon, 1/4" Chocolate Grosgrain. Sizzlits Oval Dies

In case you are wondering....Yes! those wide ribbon bows took forever to get 'just right'. (lol)

Below we have the Birthday Reminder cards, take a trip to Jayne's Blog (teleport here!!). Note it is not a scribble on them, I was playing in my photo editing program and skewed the addresses! Like I mentioned before, it took a while to make them all up, and to choose just the right image to match the person!! Well actually making them up was fine, I set up a template in Publisher and just typed them all in, it was the stamping of the images and choosing the colours!! I am very fussy!! (If you hadn't already noticed!!)

Well that's it for today, I am off to make the 'girl' cards. Thankyou Marelle and Jayne (if you happen across my blog) for the wonderful inspiration and ideas I get from you both!!

If I get a chance I will post the others on the weekend!! Till then, enjoy your day!!

The Lawnmower Man!

Jayden is bored!
"Why can't I play the playstation?"
"Because I said so!! Go out and see if Dad need's help outside!"
So he did, next thing he comes running inside "I mowed the lawn!! I mowed the lawn!!" Then they went out the front, so I grabbed my bowl of twisites and sat at the front window watching!! This was so cool, so I grabbed the camera. I keep saying that I need to get in to scrapbooking, so I thought this could make an interesting page. So here are some pics of Jayden ~ Mowing the Lawn!!

"The Lesson"

"This is easy enough!"

"Ok, a bit of strength is needed!"

"GEEZ! Who let the weeds get this high!!"

My eScape Mailout

I couldn't publish this the other day as I was waiting for 'the ladies' to receive their cards. This is how I have sent out my information for the eScape Promotion. I have made them all up a little notecard (mine are 4" x 4") and sent them out in a normal size envelope adapted to fit by following the instructions on Julie Ebersole's Blog. I have used the SAB Set Friendship Blooms and have used the In Colour Colours, Buckaroo Blue, Soft Sky and Wild Wasabi. Each has a rhinestone brad through the centre (except one, which I was going to use these Pale Blue Kaiser Pearls, but they were too thick in the envelope.) I nearly didn't get a picture as I started putting them in the the envelopes and sealed the first one before I realised!! That's why there is one with the pearl - as it is my sample! I have used a Carl CP2 flowerpot punch, stamped the flowers on the front and back of the envelope and then drawn the stem & leaves with the blender pen and Wild Wasabi. I have also used the Mat Pack to prick the dots on the flowers. Oh and I used the speckle for Itty Bitty Backgrounds on the cardstock insert for the flowerpots.
That's it for today.

(PS - Sorry about the photo quality, I am trying to take photos instead of scanning, so I am still learning with my camera.)

Final Furry Friend Count .....22

Ok, now I know you are all dying to know!!! Owen is an avid collector of all things soft, cute and fluffy!!! So we joked before going to Queensland that we would need an extra suitcase to bring all of his new friends home in! Well they filled two duffle bags and filled all the gaps in the suitcases!! So all in all the final count was 22!! (I think)

Back row (L-R) Jayden holding Squirt, Owen Holding Elly the Elephant Puppet and Sealy
Front row (L-R) Sylvester, Adventure Duck 1, Marvin, Lola, Leo, Foghorn, Max, Tweety, Steve (the Elephant from Australia Zoo), Ella (the Polar Bear named after my niece), Daffy, Tim, Leon, Bugs (is leaning forward) Cutie, Koala from the Big Pineapple, Leo the Leopard Puppet, Adventure Duck 2 and Tazzy the Tasmanian Devil Puppet.

Now I think that is all my bits and pieces done!! 4 posts in one day, my am I on a roll!!

So I am off till later in the week!! I haven't chosen which day I am going to eScape the 'e'. That's going to be a hard one for me......but I will try!

Cheers, Caroline

Covered Journals

Ok as mentioned earlier in my post about my craft space, here are a couple of the Journals I made for Jayden & Owens Teachers for the end of last year. The Journals are the A6 ones that I was talking about from Target!! Both have been covered with Scrapbooking paper and decorated with Grand Adhesions stickers.

The blue card and journal were for Jayden's teacher Mr Fuller. I have never come across such an amazing and enthusiastic teacher!!

This gorgeous Daffodil card and Journal were made for Mrs Harrington, who Owen had last year, another amazing teacher!! I moved the boys to a smaller school at the beginning of 2007. Both boys have thrived!! and are doing exceptionally well. I am very proud of them both.

I am sure most of you out there have covered the odd journal or two! so I am not going to go through my instructions, though if you do want a guide just email me and I will help out. I have basically done these by taking off the front and back, covering them with the paper and repunching the holes with a hole punch (I actually used my Fiskars springy one - from Kmart nice and noisy!!) though I may try another with a cropodile (once I get one!!). Then put the backing and cover back on, decorated the front, printed a nice Teacher poem and put it on the inside cover, and that's it!!

Materials Used
Blue Card and Journal used K&Company Grand Adhesions (not sure of the type) and Chatterbox papers (not sure of the type)
Daffodill Card & Journal used K&Company Tim Coffey Daffodills Paper Kit & Grand Adhesions
Both lots used Stampin Up! Hodgepodge Hardware and various stickers and ribbon.

My Creative Zone!

Well I have just spent most of Saturday and Saturday night sorting and tidying up 'my space'! I have the exclusive use of the length of a wall in our bedroom!! (plus I have taken over a column of drawer/baskets and the laundry cupboard!!) It is handy though, because while I am 'creating' I use the bed as extra space, to put files of bazzil, my cutter, stamp set etc. Only problem is it has to be put away to go to bed!! I have a nasty habit of piling up bits of paper, books, magazines etc and moving them to my chair, then when I create I move the pile to the bed...then back to the chair (to go to bed) ...then back to the bed....etc etc...a nasty little habit that I hope to have broken by finally sorting through the pile and putting it all away!!

I used to have a room, but it is more peaceful in the house with the two boys having separate rooms rather than sharing. (though Owen has many sleepovers in Jayden's room on the weekend as the bunk beds that Anthony made are still in there!! ...Anyway, now that I am sorted and tidy I thought I would share 'my space' with you.

Ok, this is my desk (IKEA). The filing cabinet holds all my Stampin Up! Cardstock. The little shelf that the light sits on hold my Craft Mates Containers with all my brads etc in, a box with all my rubons and the little drawers hold my various pens (metallics, permanents, pastel gels pens etc) Behind my Colour Caddy are my spiral bound Catalogues, template books and my little colour chart books that I have made. I have one for Stampin Up!, a Bazzill one, a stamp catalogue (still in progress) and a few ither little books. The black clear drawer container holds White card for card bases, Mounting foam, Hodgepodge Hardware and Tools. The green one has my 3D Special Books, 3D Sheets, Specialty Papers and my rolls of DS tape. In the two sets of drawers under the light, I have all sorts of everyday items, CM Cutting system templates & Blades, small punches, Sizzlits Dies, Watercolour Wonder Crayons etc. Most things on my desk are items I reach for regularly.

Here I have my other cardstock etc. All my Bazzill is in the White Files!! Patterned paper in the Lever arch Files. Little bits and pieces in the little containers. The large 3 Drawer holds - Envelopes and Cello bags (Top Drawer) Various paper packs - mainly K & Co & HOTP (middle Drawer) and the bottom drawer has more K&C papers and more envelopes!! Then on top is my Cricut and you can just see the bottom of the shelf that Anthony put up to hold my Cricut Cartridges. The Blue box holds my 12"x12" papers that I haven't cut down to A4 and the toolbox is empty! I got a little addicted to ebay a couple of years ago and bought everything I liked!! (whoops) But I don't have that problem anymore!! No, instead of Ebay I am addicted to Stampin Up! So I am slowly working my way through all the old stuff, so I can concentrate on the NEW!!

This is my 'column of baskets' I rearranged and sorted all this on Saturday. The bottom one holds a stack of A6 Jounals, notecard packs and gift items. i keep an eye out a target just after Christmas as they really mark these stationery items down and they are perfect for covering! I will pull out a couple that I have decorated and post them later. The ones I have are Hallmark their RRP was $9.95 and I picked them up for $1.88 each!! So I got 10!! (which was all that they had!!) I also have in this column my Cuttlebug with Dies and Embossing Folders, my ribbons, a container of extra stock of brads etc and my Stamping Up! punches.

The above two pics are my Laundry Cupboard!! My darling Husband has put extra shelves in to accommodate my stamp sets. Gotta love a hubby who fully supports your addiction!! The boxes on the lower shelf hold all my 'non' Stampin Up! stamps and the blue set of drawers hold all my Carl Punches (yep I was addicted to Punch art at one stage too!!) and my Mosaic and Ribbon Punches. I have left just enough room for the Iron (who use that anyway!!), some soap powder and the big bag of shopping bags, which is dwindling as I now use my green ones! I do use these for bin liners though.

So that's it!! My Creative Space!! As tidy as it will ever be!!

Now on to posting the cards I made last night.
